When you compute (1D) stellar structure and evolution models with codes such as Modules for Experiments in Stellar Astrophysics (MESA), you often want to compute multiple models simultaneously (or at least launch the models automatically in series). This can be because you’re doing a convergence test for a single model, or because you’re computing a grid of 100s or 1000s of models. Setting up these multi-model computations can be quite tricky and error-prone. Over the last few months, I have been developing a Python package that should make running single and multiple MESA models user-friendly and accessible for everyone.

MESA Orchestrator in Python (MOrPy) is an open-source software package that allows you to set up, run, and track MESA models using Python. It acts as an interface between Python and the MESA code, allowing you to interact with MESA via a Python script or Jupyter notebook.

The code is available here: GitHub repository for MOrPy.
